Get Prepared

PREPARATION IS KEY

Whether you're undertaking the 105 laps solo, splitting half the laps with your loved one, or if you are in a bigger team - we want you feeling prepared and empowered for The Relay!

Teamwork
  • Create a game plan if you're participating in a team! Will 2 team members walk at a time? Will you each take it in turn walking? Will you each do bulk laps before swapping walkers? It is up to you!
  • Invite your family and friends along to support and cheer you on! At 4pm our celebrations will kick off for the last hour of the event, with a closing ceremony happening at 5pm. Everyone is welcome.

What to bring
  • Pack a bag. Bring your water bottle, sweat towel, and any items you will be needing to complete your challenge! We will have water refill stations at the event along with a canteen!
  • Get your favourite blue outfit ready! We want to see the track filled by our blue walking warriors. PLUS there are prizes to be won for the most blue dressed participants!

Training tips
  • Get training! Get your body and legs used to walking/running the distance you are going to be doing at The Relay! Below we have sample training plans that you can use or be inspired by.
  • Test your shoes. Wear a good pair of running shoes. Make sure they are well broken in before the event by wearing them on training walks.
  • Make it fun. Whether you're participating alone or in a team - invite your family and friends along to support and cheer you on! At 4pm our celebrations will kick off for the last hour of the event, with a closing ceremony happening at 5pm. Everyone is welcome.
