My pledge time is: Saturday morning, 25th June.

I’m taking part in The Great MND Relay in support of the 470 Victorians currently living with MND. All funds raised will ensure MND Victoria can continue providing vital care, support, education and equipment so no one has to face this devastating disease alone.
I’d like to tell you why it is important for me to fundraise and take part in The Great MND Relay.
My husband Jim has MND. We were in a state of shock when Jim was diagnosed in December 2020. We knew that Motor Neurone Disease was a rare and terrible disease and were overwhelmed when Jim was diagnosed. When searching for information we came across MND Vic and made contact with them.
We were put in touch with an MND advisor and our future began to unfold. Fran was our font of knowledge, care and compassion and led us through the darkness of those early days and is still there when we need her today. Fran took us through the motions of access to an Aged Care Package, finding a Provider and our dedicated and conscientious Support Worker. Fran also gave us information about the disease and the importance for building our team around us.
As the disease has progressed we have had to use more and more specialised equipment to enable Jim to move around and for him to be comfortable at home. MND Vic have enabled access without charge to his wheelchairs, ramps, shower commode, Sara Steady, cushions, a hoist, as well as other essential items.
I want others with Motor Neurone disease to be able to access the support , care and equipment that has been given to us and it is my hope that my fundraising will benefit others.
MND are an amazing organisation and I encourage all to join in the Great MND relay campaign and give generously.
